The other day, one of my students walked funnily as he crossed the classroom. Another student asked him, “Are you protecting your shoes?” (They were pristine white) I interjected, “Well, if your pants weren’t pushed down to your knees, it might be easier.” He was horrified. He pointed to his knees and then to his waistband. “See!? Look at all the space between. You need your eyes checked!” I shook my head, “Sweetie, there should be more than 4 inches between your belt and your knees.” He smiled and rolled his eyes.
